Trauma Informed
Providing care and education through a trauma-sensitive lens creates a safer, more inclusive, and empowering birth experience for all.

Trauma-informed care is grounded in the understanding that:

Safety (both physical and emotional) is paramount.

Empowerment and choice are essential to avoid re-traumatization.

Care providers must cultivate trust, transparency, and collaboration.

Cultural humility and inclusivity are necessary, as trauma can disproportionately affect marginalized communities.

I do not have an attachment to your decision. My only focus is on ensuring you have the information needed to make informed decisions and a clear understanding of what is happening to you & your baby.​

The modules I have created are comprehensive and detailed. I am constantly revising them. There is no need to memorize or take a ton of notes either because I will send you a PDF summary of each meeting complete with links to evidence based research.

I am certified as a trauma informed yoga teacher and continue to educate myself on trauma informed care.
Inclusive & Affirming​
​
Every human has their own unique lived experiences, preferences, family, etc. Often childbirth education is based on a certain standard - average body size, people under 35 years old, heterosexual families, white.
​
As a single mother and a person living in a larger body with my own set of lived experiences I was drawn to create curriculum that is more inclusive and affirming. When addressing a larger audience, such as in my training modules and social media, I use language that includes: birthing people, parents, lactating people, chest feeding, etc. We will clarify what you prefer to use during our "get to you know" stage and that is how I will refer to you.
